First shot at this beautiful track. Can’t wait to do JC as well. Much alike when it comes to feeling.

Another shot at this pearl. Still not totally comfortable with the outcome but it can only get better I guess.

Sweet track. I really like the ending that reminds me of old days on EVOL.

Plain and simple rocky tune.

Mote (Bookstore) – Sonic Youth cover

•January 17, 2011 • Leave a Comment

This version is pretty much made out of my memory from the Blow Job cd, the demos for Goo. At that time it was called Bookstore. Lee is really cool on this.
Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Self-Obsessed and Sexxee – Sonic Youth cover

Skip Tracer – Sonic Youth cover

A quick version with mainly Thurstons part. Beautiful and yet odd riff.

New strings on this guitar. Wanted to try this epic song out on this.

Little Trouble Girl – Sonic Youth cover

Not too sure that I got the right tuning on this one but it sort of works out still. Sweet tune.

Sweet sleepy song that works excellent on acoustic.
Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Macbeth – Sonic Youth/Ciccone Youth cover

•January 2, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Best track on Whitey album and on my personal top 5 list. Again, human beat machinery was needed and I know, poor as hell haha.
Tuning: GGDDEbEB

Children of Satan/Third Fig – Sonic Youth/Ciccone Youth cover

•January 2, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Underrated and evil. Excellent track from Whitey Album. R’ n’ noise and a (I know) poor handclapping beat haha.
Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Washing Machine – Sonic Youth cover

•November 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Epic song and one of the best songs from the Washing Machine album. This is just a simple version and would be better on electric. Hard to do the noisy parts on acoustic but it’s really fun to play.
Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Brother James – Sonic Youth cover

•November 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Acoustic version of this true no-wave classic. SY at it when evil.
Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Hey Joni – Sonic Youth cover

•November 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Trying to combine two guitars into one. Great song though.
Tuning: GABDEG

Pacific Coast Highway – Sonic Youth cover

•November 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Two electric guitars and we would get somewhere but a two-rounded acoustic tour is all for now. Another version later.
Tuning: EG#EG#EG#

Saucer-Like – Sonic Youth cover

•November 27, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Quite simple song actually but really hard to make it sound just right. Not the best of luck here in my opinion. Especially the ending could be better. Gotta do another version.
Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Panty Lies – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Such a weird song but with a really tight beat. Reminds me of the old song ‘Bone’ from Experimental..

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

I Love You Golden Blue – Sonic Youth cover

Great for acoustic. Beautiful simple SY track.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Mary-Christ – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Maybe not the best cover I’ve done but it was in the right tuning so I gave it a shot.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Shoot – Sonic Youth cover

A true Sonic classic.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Kool Thing – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Simple rocky tune that works best on Blow Job, the Goo demos in my opinion.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Halloween – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Also one of the best songs on Bad Moon Rising. It’s lazyness is stunning but still vital.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Death To Our Friends – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Instrumental madness. Limitations at some point but really a rocky tune.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Tuff Gnarl – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Actually a pretty simple song but it all ends up in dissonant violent guitars which, of course, is hard to do on a acoustic. Beautiful song.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Shadow Of A Doubt – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

By far one of the most beautiful tunes blessed with melancholy. Only thing missing must be Kim’s reverbed bass in the background.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Starpower – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Pretty simple and tight piece of sound. Would work best with a second guitar on top and some of the break parts with dissonant guitar is hard to do.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Intro / Brave Men Run (In My Family) – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

These first two songs from the Bad Moon Rising album are of the strongest, most vital character. And live they’re just even more evil. Love them. Tried to make it sound as good as possible on acoustic but I need to do electric versions later.

Tuning: F#F#F#F#EB

Green Light – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This is for sure one of the weirdest songs they ever did and my version is just a try to make sense in some of the inferno of the guitarlandscape. I’ve incorporated some of Kim’s bassplaying in this structure because it seemed to work in the labyrinth of sound and because her bass sounds more like a flat guitar.

Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Orange Rolls, Angel’s Spit – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Crazy attitude going on in this song. Love the long solo section just like in White Cross. Electric version is a must!

Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Stereo Sanctity – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Hardcore agressive track, love it. Gotta do a electric version as soon as possible. Kind of same attitude as Brother James.

Tuning: GGDDEbE

Theresa’s Sound-World, new version – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Acoustic version on a guitar that actually can keep tune haha. Still hard to reach the high pitches though.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

Silver Rocket – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Simple song but works best when Lee’s guitar gets it’s parts. Allowed myself some sort of improvisation during the break.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

White Cross – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Pretty tuff to reach the crazy high pithes in the solo on this guitar but I love the way it reminds me of “Orange Rolls…etc”

Tuning: F#F#GGAA

(I Got A) Catholic Block – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Crazy song – also one of Sonics’ finest in my opinion. The riff is awesome but hard to do both guitars in one.

Tuning: DDDDAA

Kotton Crown / The Sprawl – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

One of the most fantastic songs from the Sister record. Pretty hard to do all of the epic effects on this kind of guitar though. Electric version follow up will come. Also another version of The Sprawl which is fun to play in different tunings.

Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Candle, new version – Sonic Youth cover

New version, new guitar.

Trying this song on a better guitar with more distinct sound.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

Cinderella’s Big Score (Corky) / Silver Rocket (short version) – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Classic Sonic tune that in my opinion is better on the demo version cd ‘Blow Job’. It’s a fantastic song and it’s a real cool thing to play. The build up..everything.
It ends in a slightly fast sloppy version of Silver Rocket.
Might do a better version of that song another time.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

The Sprawl – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Great song. Not the same on this guitar as on an electric but it’s sounds ok I guess.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

Cross The Breeze – Sonic Youth cover

Funny acoustic version. Better electric will follow.

Tuning: CCEBGD

Death Valley ’69 – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

One of my favourite Sonic songs. Especially those mid 80′s live versions in which Thurston and Lee are just shouting like crazy. It’s too vital.
Anyways, this is my version on spanish guitar and sorry bout the ending. End of battery. Maybe another version later.

Tuning: EF#F#F#BB

Teenage Riot – Sonic Youth cover

First shot at this brilliant piece of legendary sound.
A bit more practice and then it should be kind of perfect.

Tuning: GABDEG

Theresa’s Sound-World – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This guitar can’t keep in tune at all..I mean, it’s really unique in it’s own way haha.
I’ll try to do this song on an acoustic later on but it was pure fun to try out this piece of vintage.

Tuning: ACCGG#C

Brother James – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Love this pretty out of tune guitar and it’s clean cheap sound but still this song is only fun to play when the amp is killed.

Tuning: GGDDEbEb

Schizophrenia – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Not quite as good as it would be on an electric but it works out. Will do some electric versions of songs in this tuning later.

Tuning: F#F#GGAA

Tom Violence – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Another great song from the stunning EVOL album.

Tuning: F#F#GGAA

Expressway To Yr Skull – Sonic Youth cover

•October 26, 2010 • Leave a Comment

The long everlasting part at the end of the original song is not possible on this kind of guitar – I’ll give it another try later on electric.
